Cloud.com VMOps: The Private Cloud Platform That Led to a Citrix Acquisition

Cloud.com needed to build and bring to market a private cloud virtualization management platform that could achieve real enterprise adoption. in-school led full product management and delivery — and the result drove Cloud.com's acquisition by Citrix.

The Challenge

Cloud.com was building VMOps — a private cloud virtualization management platform integrating XenServer and VMware — and needed to take it from concept to enterprise adoption. The challenge was not just technical delivery but full product management: defining the roadmap, managing stakeholders, driving engineering execution, and positioning the platform to achieve the kind of enterprise credibility that would fuel growth and market recognition.

The Solution

in-school provided full product management and delivery leadership for VMOps across the build and go-to-market phases. The team managed the complete product lifecycle — from roadmap definition and engineering oversight through integration of XenServer and VMware virtualization layers to enterprise deployment and customer adoption programs. The platform was architected and delivered to the standards required for enterprise private cloud adoption, with the product management rigor to ensure the right capabilities were built, sequenced, and communicated to the market.

The Result

VMOps achieved enterprise adoption as a private cloud virtualization management platform. The success of the product directly contributed to Cloud.com's acquisition by Citrix — one of the enterprise technology industry's most recognized outcomes in the private cloud space.
