The Challenge
A healthcare organization was operating a fully manual deployment process that consumed an entire business day per release cycle. Beyond the productivity cost, the manual process was a compliance liability — with deployment steps that were inconsistently executed, poorly documented, and difficult to audit. The Solution
in-school designed and built a full CI/CD pipeline replacing the manual deployment process end-to-end. The pipeline implemented HIPAA-compliant deployment profiles governing what could be deployed, under what conditions, and with what audit trail. Automated testing was integrated at multiple stages of the pipeline to catch issues before they reached production. Database version control was introduced through automated migration tooling, eliminating the manual database change risk that had previously been a rollback trigger. The total pipeline duration from commit to deployed production build was reduced from a full business day to under one hour.
The Result
Deployment time reduced by more than 90% — from a full business day to under one hour per release. Zero rollback incidents in the first six months of operation.
